If he doesn't fix the truck correctly "I'll have his ass". However, if the truck wasn't repaired to my satisfaction, he can have the truck back!!!!!! He said, not to worry that "I've got your back". Before I left the dealership, I went and spoke to the Sales Manager and told him that I would allow him to make the fix to try and correct the problem. I said to keep the truck for a month if you have to, just make sure that it's fixed like new. Said it would be a few days to diagnose the problems, parts needed and final fix per the TSB. ![]() He came back with the TSB and showed me the fix. He came back to dealership and said that he felt everything that I described. Anyway, the Service Tech said that he wanted to take mine for a ride himself to feel and diagnose what I was experiencing. ![]() This truck was smooth as silk and I told the Service Tech that it was night and day compared to mine. So, today I went to dealership and took another Taco for a ride along with the Lead Service Tech. I said BS and I want to drive another Tacoma to compare. They finally got back to me and said "nothing wrong" and that vehicle "performs normally". Well, took my 2021 Limited with 458 miles in to the dealer yesterday for the vibration issue. I appreciated that he communicated promptly with me on his work email and mobile phone. She got it done right the first time.įinally, I was careful not to be perceived as an angry over-demanding customer we all know that guy! I worked directly with the Service Manager for the dealership. A skillful woman mechanic, with over 20 years of experience, did the work on my Tacoma. I recommend you get in line early with your local dealer.Īdditionally, I recommend you ask your dealer to have their best master mechanic to do the work. I do not know if Toyota has built up a stock of the new parts needed to perform this TSB at scale across the country. It would be interesting to see how close they got it to zero. I will try to get the Service manager to give me the final driveshaft angles measurements. ![]() Moderate braking stop (the type that annoys your wife): I felt a mild vibration beginning at 13-10 mph that dissipates rapidly. (In a former life I was an Army Aviator maintenance test pilot, so I like the details)Ĭoasting slow stop: I detected little or no vibrations. I am happy to report that it has eliminated more than 90% of the vibrations! I highly recommend that you have this TSB performed if you own Gen 3 4x4 Tacoma (TSB applies to non-aftermarket modified 4x4). This is the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that many Tacoma owners have been waiting for to correct what has been an ongoing vibration problem (coming off power to a stop 30 to 10 mph) on the Gen 3 Tacoma 4x4. My dealer performed the new TSB -0124-20, dated, designed to remedy the driveline vibrations on my 2021 RS 4x4 Tacoma. ![]()
